DC part two

Hey Guys!

We went to the Natural History museum today. I have been wanting to go there with David for several years since he is such a dino buff - and my dream came true today, it was well worth it. We also visited the National Cathedral and the National Basilica - any good Catholic should see those two sights if in DC. In the afternoon a fierce storm hit the area, the worst in recent history, with tornadoes and such. We weren't in danger, but we did see several trees knocked over. Well, we will be home soon!

Love, Becky and David

It looks like you guys had a great time! I've never been to DC, but would love to go sometime. David looks like he's really in his element at the Museum. Although, I must wish you luck on reaching those branches with your tongue. You might starve to death if you have to rely on that method of gathering food. :) The cathedral looks beautiful...I'm not a Catholic, and some may say that I'm not good either, but I would like to see it for the architecture, if nothing else. Thanks for sharing your travels with us, and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys at the reunion.

Love,
Liz

Thanks for the comments... the cathedral is actually Episcopal, not Catholic. But yes, the Catholics would not be outdone, and have built a bigger/better Basilica nearby. DC is a great place to visit, and very cheap, since all the museums and destinations are free (including the wonderful Zoo). Great for history as well! Let us know if you are ever planning on going and we have lots of tips.

Hey Beck,
That's funny about the Cathedral and Basilica...Since I'm not Catholic and very much in the minority (in this family, anyway) I won't say anything else for fear of being excommunicated by the family. I fear I'm already on the verge since I have publicly admitted to not being Catholic anymore twice, actually three times now, in the last 24 hours! If no one hears from me from this moment on, you'll know what happened... :)

So the zoo in DC is free too? How amazing is that? I didn't think that anything was free anymore. Thanks for the info and I will certaily talk with you guys before I go there.

Make sure you call me the next time you're in the DFW area if you have time. Do you still have a brother that lives in Dallas?

Love you,
Lizard

I do still have a brother in Dallas, but we haven't made it up there in a while. He tends to drive down since most of my family is here in SA, but we will definitely let you know the next time we are headed up there. Well, don't feel too bad about the Catholic thing, there are always very strong emotions associated with that - but you must always be true to yourself and we will love you anyway. Heck, this family let David marry a white, loud-mouthed protestant lutheran!! Pure heresy!!
